The National Coalition of Ethnic Minority Nurse Associations (NCEMNA) is a unified force advocating for equity and justice in nursing and health care for ethnic minority populations. NCEMNA is made up of five national ethnic nurse associations: Asian American/Pacific Islander Nurses Association, Inc. (AAPINA) National Alaska Native American Indian Nurses Association, Inc. (NANAINA) National Association of Hispanic Nurses, Inc. (NAHN) National Black Nurses Association, Inc. (NBNA) Philippine Nurses Association of America, Inc. (PNAA)

Asian Pacific Islander Nurses Association in US
On January, 1992 in Washington, D.C., 100 minority nurses were invited to the First Invitational Congress of Minority Nurse Leaders sponsored by the Division of Nursing, Office of Minority Health, and the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services, Public Health Service. At this meeting, the Asian American Pacific Islander nurses met and formed a new national organization, Asian American Pacific Islander Nurses Association (AAPINA).
