Monday, Jan 12th, 10 AM PST / 1 PM EST
Strategies for Nurses Contemplating Career Change:
Unpacking the Nurse Experience
We will focus on supporting nurses through career changes, whether taking a break, moving to a new role, leaving traditional nursing or just thinking about a change. Through this lens, we will:
- Discuss how your thoughts, feelings and relationships can support or diminish your energy during transitional times.
- Reflect on your nursing and life journey so far, and how they might shape what comes next.
- Explore how you can pivot internally and externally out of something that is not working for you.
Who Should attend: Any nurses wondering how to better support themselves and their nursing communities. This content is for everyone from students to retirees.

Chatbots & Mental Health: Exploring Risks, Safeguards, & Possible Benefits
By National Academy of Medicine
Online event
Jan 14 from 3pm to 4:30pm EST
Overview
With tragic cases of suicides allegedly linked to chatbots, what role can or should these platforms play in mental health support?
Nearly half of all Americans will experience a diagnosable mental health condition at some point in their lives, yet access to timely, affordable, and effective mental health care remains inadequate. Meanwhile, generative-AI “chatbots” like ChatGPT and Character.AI have become ubiquitous in the past few years—and more and more people are turning to them for mental health support. With headlines emerging about “AI psychosis” and tragic cases of suicides allegedly linked to chatbot use, the question is urgent: what role can (or should) these tools play in mental health support?
This timely conversation will explore what research exists on mental health-related use of chatbots among the public and what questions are still unanswered. It will provide perspectives from clinicians, researchers, and technology experts about the potential and risks and benefits and discuss safeguards put in place by governments, organizations, and individuals to protect users of these platforms.

Poetry of Healing with Paulina Van: A Stillpoint for Nurses to Speak, Feel, and Heal
This monthly gathering offers a sacred space where the inner life of Nurses is held with reverence—and voice is given to the heart’s truths. Rooted in Caring Science and inspired by the poetry of practice, we feature Nurse poets—and those who write in honor of Nursing—who courageously express what it means to care, to grieve, to witness, and to heal. In each episode, we pause… creating a still point in time… where words become a balm, and connection becomes a sacred act of human-to-human presence. Here, love, caring, and compassion are not only spoken but deeply felt. Whether you’re a Nurse, a poet, or someone simply in need of gentle reflection, you are welcome here.
4th Sunday of each month.
