The Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification (ABSNC) is pleased to announce results of the 2021 election for the Board Officers. Margaret Erickson, PhD, RN, MSN, CNS, APHN-BC has been elected President-elect of the Board. Her term of office will begin on July 1, 2021 and run through June 30, 2023.

Dr. Erickson brings more than 41 years of experience in holistic nursing practice, working with multiple populations throughout the lifespan and in many different settings. She has done research and taught holistic nursing at the undergraduate and graduate levels at the University of Texas at Austin and Tennessee State University. She currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation (AHNCC) where she is responsible for guiding the strategic direction of the organization and oversight of all administrative functions, as well as all phases of exam development.

ABSNC is the only accrediting body specifically dedicated to nursing certification. Currently ABSNC accredits nearly 60 programs from more than 25 specialty nursing certification organizations. The accreditation standards offered by ABSNC include Examination-Based Certification Programs, Portfolio Assessment Certification Programs, and Assessment-Based Certificate Programs.
